A new edition...er....addition

What's got Colby all jazzed up (although it might still be the shirt...) is the addition of a little brother to our family! We received an email on December 20 (although we didn't get it til the 21st) asking if we might want to consider a little one who had just turned two. We said we would and we did and on that same day we submitted a Letter of Intent which went to China on December 23. We didn't know if we'd be waiting 3 days or 3 weeks for a response. It was painfully difficult to keep things quiet on Christmas!! My cancer history technically excludes us from China adoption and there was a very real possibility that they would say "no" and we just didn't want to risk disappointing anyone. By God's grace our wait was short and on December 29 we were notified that we had received pre-approval to adopt our son. We are over the moon excited and thrilled to be returning to China! We are hoping that Carter will be coming home in late summer or early fall, but a lot will depend on how quickly we can get ourselves together and how quickly the governments of two countries move.
