chickenators
Whenever the kids ask what we're having for lunch I tell them that it's going to be "lizard toes and chicken gizzards" or "elephant trunks and giraffe necks". Today the question came, "What are we having for lunch, chickenators?" I'm not sure what a chickenator is - maybe a chicken ala the Terminator and that's a funny vision, or some kind of mass weapon of destruction like a chicken bomb.... I'm sure we're not going to be having chickenators for lunch, but I'm also sure that it's going to be my new pat answer to the lunch question. "Oh yes, we're having chickenators today!"

singadadoodle
Colby struggles with the "th" sound. We're working on it, but it mostly comes out as "s". So things are sings. And apparently a thingamadoodle is a singadadoodle. The da in place of ma really makes the word. Today he was delighted with himself and with that word, so he used it about a gazillion times. Works for me, I don't think I'll ever be tired of hearing it!

We are cabled!!
On Thursday we learned that our case has passed through the NVC (National Visa Center) and has been forwarded to the Embassy in China! This is the last step on US Soil! Now we're waiting on our Article 5 (final approval that Carter can be adopted under the Hague convention) and our Travel Approval from China! It's looking like we'll be traveling in early December, although that's not an absolute yet. I think it's time to send another care package and hope for some more updated pictures!
Can I look in the mirror?
I made Colby put a sweatshirt on today when he wanted to go outside. He asked if he could go look in the mirror. I was curious as to his motive. He reappeared and said, "I like this one. I don't like long sweatshirts. They make me look like a fat man." Well alrighty then! Steve and I laughed SO hard. That's our boy. Then he ran out the front door, turned around and yelled back into the house, "Are you coming outside, fat mans?" THAT is also our boy. Ha ha ha.
