Way back on November 2 we loaded up the kids and went to the justice building to re-adopt Carter and make him ours forever (again). In truth, we spent more time en route than we spent in the courtroom. The kids were excited to go back behind the bench afterward for a picture with the judge. He told Kailin that he liked her socks. She gave him a blank look. The court reporter corrected him - they were tights. Off to Pizza Ranch to celebrate! Even though it's a formality, I love that the kids get to see us promise to love their brother and to treat him like "any other child". We knew long ago that Carter was ours, but I'm glad that the state now agrees!
